A passion for architecture, light, and spatial creativity led Pierre Vuilmet to found Les Choses in 2017, to better interrogate the possibilities of mass-produced design and explore universal themes through a range of functionally oriented objects.
Its first series, “Fire” (Le Feu), is a series of firepits and accessories reflecting that vision. Devised in collaboration with Brazilian designer Yoan Claveau de Lima the series seeks to capture the elemental nature of the flame in the most elegant and efficient way possible.
An advocate of the ‘made in France’ principle, Les Choses has drawn upon the services of a network of craftsmen across Provence and Normandy in order to realise the material beauty and quality of its striking collection.
The spark of original fire
Yoan Claveau de Lima’s designs for Les Choses balance simplicity and purpose with a distinctive vitality. The natural weathering and non-corroding qualities of premium grade, mechanically welded Corten Steel grant a robustness and weight to the sculptural lines of the Brasero firepits and its accessories, imparting a distinctive aesthetic certain to deliver drama and flair to whichever outdoor environment they are placed in.
